T20 : Yuvraj delivers, India fails

Star cricketer Yuvraj Singh made his comeback in the second T20 against New Zealand in Chennai on September 11, 2012. The crowd present at the stadium gave a warm reception to the player who survived rare germ-cell cancer. Yuvraj wore his favorite No. 12 jersey and a huge roar came from the crowd when he was shown on the giant screen with the words 'Welcome Back Yuvi'.

Before the match Yuvraj tweeted,"Getting very restless! Just few more hours to go hope it doesn't rain in the evening!". He fielded at the square leg region and also bowled two overs. He conceded 4 runs in his first over and 10 runs in the next over.

New Zealand scored 167 for 5 in 20 overs. The crowd cheered when Yuvraj came to bat and the score was 86 for 2 in 10.2 overs at that time. He was positive in his approach, scored coupe of twos and a boundary in quick succession. Yuvi was dropped when he his score was 9, due to the collision between New Zealand players McCullum and Mills. After the match resumed, Yuvraj hit a big six effortlessly in the first ball he faced from spinner Daniel Vettori. He scored 34 runs (1 fours, 2 sixes) out of 26 balls. India lost the match by just 1 run, scored 166 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma was on stike when India required 4 runs from the last ball, but scored just 2 runs.

The Indian team today wore a 'You We Can' badge in support to the foundation started by Yuvraj to help cancer patients. Heavy rains in Visakhapatnam delayed his comeback by a few days, but he put up an impressive show in the very first opportunity given to him. Hats off to Yuvi!
