Chiranjeevi First Time Inspires MLAs

Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's induction into the Union Cabinet despite being a first-timer has given a hope for junior MLAs in the State Congress.

With the reports of CM Kiran likely to go for a cabinet reshuffle in the next couple of weeks doing rounds, first-time MLAs in Congress were demanding the leadership to consider them for ministerial berths. They stress that this is the right time to the decision taken by late YSR to not to give the ministry to first-timers. "YSR informed us that Sonia Gandhi is averse to offering cabinet berths to first-time MLAs. Apart from Chiru, even leaders like Balaram Naik and Killi Kruparani who got elected for the first-time have found a place in Manmohan's cabinet. With Sonia herself giving chance to several first-timers in the recent Union cabinet reshuffle, there shouldn't be any problem for Junior MLAs induction," opines an minister aspirant.

MLAs Jayasudha (Secunderabad), Kannababu (Kakinada rural), Jogi Ramesh (Vijayawada), Baji Reddy (Uppal), Sridhar Krishna Reddy (Nellore), Kantha Rao (Pinapaka) and Ravi (Poothalapattu) are in the race for ministerial berths this time. Kiran Kumar Reddy may focus mainly on stopping the flow of Congress MLAs to YSRC by inducting few first-timers into his cabinet.
