Ranji Trophy: Rahane scores ton, Tendulkar out for 137

Delhi vs UP: Delhi 235 all out. UP were 40-1 at end of day one.
Virat Kohli (14), Virender Sehwag (25) and Gautam Gambhir (32) all returned back to the hut — scoring much less than what can be expected of them. After the star-studded top order fell, Delhi’s batsmen have failed to forge a proper partnership. Only Mithun Manhas (42) and Punit Bisht (52) have made significant contributions. I Ahmad has been UP’s best bowler with figures of 5/59. Praveen Kumar has suffered a hamstring injury.
Ishant Sharma has taken T Srivastav’s wicket for Delhi. M Dagar (18) and Mohammad Kaif (3) are not out.
Mumbai vs Railways: Mumbai were 344-4 at end day one.
Local hero Sachin Tendulkar scored a brilliant 137 from 136 balls before being caught by Madkaikar off AP Kathuria’s bowling .Towards the end of his knock, he cut loose– smashing 21 runs in one over. He went from 74 to his century in just seven balls. His innings consisted of 21 fours and three sixes. Ajinkya Rahane is not out at 105 with Abhishek Nayar just in on the other end. Kaustubh Pawar was the first one to fall for the home team. He made 24 from 44 balls before being caught behind.

Bengal vs Rajasthan: Bengal were 187-4 after 59 overs when match was stopped after bad light.
Bengal have lost both Subhomoy Das and Manoj Tiwary. The former scored a fine 95 before falling LBW to Pankaj Singh. Tiwary fell short by eight runs for a half-century. Earlier, JJ Basu was quick to depart, scoring only six runs before Pankaj Singh sent him back to the hut. WS Porel was looking good at 22 but Singh scalped him as well. A Majumdar and Wriddhiman Saha were batting at nine and six respectively.
Punjab v Hyderabad: Hyderabad were 244-7 at end of day one.
Akshath Reddy’s 63 from 154 balls– consisting of 10 fours has been the best batting innings so far. Mohinderpal Singh’s bowling is doing most of the damage. His latest figures were 3-33. IM Khalees (38) and P Ojha (4) were not out.
Baroda v Karnataka: Baroda were 176-4 after 64 overs.
A Waghmode and Irfan Pathan were not out on 67 and 46 respectively. Yusuf Pathan (24), K Devdhar (2), Abhimanyu Chauhan (6) and Ambati Rayadu (14) were all back in the pavilion. Vinay Kumar, S Binny and KP Apanna were the wicket takers.
MPCA v Gujarat: Gujarat were 327-5 at end of play. Parthiv Patel scored 162 for Gujarat.
Haryana v Vidarbha: Haryana 55 all out. Vidharbha were 78-2 at end of play.
Himachal v Kerala: Kerela were 196-8 at end of play.
Assam v Tripura: Assam were 220-5 at end of play.
J&K v Jharkhand: J&K were 195 all out. Jharkhand were 81-1 at end of play.
