Cabinet Reshuffle: Purandeswari gets promotion
Minister of State for Human Resource Development (Higher Education) Daggubati Purandeswari has been rewarded by Congress high command for the good work she has done over the past eight years under UPA rule.
Purandeswari has been given the cabinet rank in the last and final cabinet reshuffle of UPA 2. She will be taking charge as Commerce Minister in place of Anand Sharma. On the other hand, Anand Sharma might be appointed as new External Affairs Minister in place of SM Krishna who resigned the other day.
PM Manmohan Singh called Purandeswari to appreciate for the kind of work she has done upto and also wished her .The ceremony for swearing-in of new ministers is scheduled at 11.30 hours at the Rashtrapati Bhavan tomorrow.
