No Eamcet, Only NEET :Official News!!
From 2013, AP students needn't have to qualify for Eamcet medical entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. Instead, they have to appear for the National Eligibilty-cum-Entrance Test (NeeT) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on May 12 next year.
Although the state government appealed to postpone the proposal of implementing Neet test from 2013 by one year so that students could get used to the new syllabus by that time, the Centre didn't oblige.
All the medical and dental seats available will be allotted to AP students alone based on merit in Neet test. Notification for the Neet test will be issued in December. Applications and syllabus will be kept online. Apart from English and Hindi, questions will be provided in Telugu too for the convenience of Telugu medium students. The Neet test will be held only in the cities like Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada and Tirupati.
