Air India asks Crew to stop eating on Plane
In a surprise development, Air India issued a circular asking it's cabin crew to behave themselves while they were on duty. It stressed two things mainly, one thing is to stop eating the passengers food in the mid-air and the other is their loud laugh in the galley area.
Several complaints have been registered by the first class passengers about the consumption of the meals by the crew in the recent past. As per the rule, the number of meals packets will depend on the passengers on board. However, the cabin crew is keeping few of them for their consumption. Few passengers even complained that the airline staff ate their meals in front of them during the journey. As the galley will be close to first class seats, the loud talk and hearty laugh of the crew causing disturbance to the passengers.
Air India has now given strict instructions by making it clear that cabin crew should take the meals only when excess packets are available, must work quietly in the galley, response time to attend to passengers time need to be short and speak softly with passengers.
