Kolkata: In another pitch controversy surrounding the India-England Test series, the BCCI asked the Cricket Association of Bengal to appoint East Zone curator Ashish Bhowmick to prepare the Eden track for the third Test match between India and England.

Mukherjee has been in charge of the pitch since decades and there were differences between him and Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni concerning the pitch. There are reports that Dhoni wanted rank turners from day one of the Kolkata Test.

Arindam Ganguly, TCA secretary said that Ashish Bhowmick is going there on BCCI’s instructions and he has no idea whether he will replace the local curator or not.

Rajiv Shukla tried to clarify the issue saying that Bhowmick’s involvement was decided by ground and pitch committee and MS Dhoni had nothing to do with it.
