Indian Shares End Higher, Software Stocks Gain
MUMBAI--Indian shares closed higher Thursday, shrugging off political worries as a move seeking to pull down the government fell through in parliament because of a lack of support.
The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-stock benchmark Sensitive Index rose 56.96 points, or 0.3%, to close at 18,517.34 after trading in a range of 18,456.20 to 18,567.68. On the National Stock Exchange, the 50-share Nifty index ended 12.95 points, or 0.2%, higher at 5,627.75.
