ASI cremated, daughter vows revenge against murderers:

The daughter and son of ASI Ravinder Pal Singh lit the pyre of their father who was allegedly murdered by ruling Akali Dal general secretary Ranjit Singh Rana, in his native Rampura village of the district on Friday.

Vowing to take revenge against the accused, the daughter, Robanjeet Kaur said, "Papa mein badla laina, jis tareeeke naal tuhanu maarya hai, usi tareeke naal main tuhade kaatlan nu marna" (Papa I will take revenge, the way you were killed, I will kill your murderers).
Singh was allegedly shot dead by a local SAD leader along with four of his accomplices. The ASI was killed after he protested harassment of his 23-year-old daughter.
Anger against the Punjab government, political goons and the attitude of Amritsar Police, prevailed in the village during the funeral, where the police officer was laid to rest with full state honours.
As police officials gathered to console the children of the ASI, daughter Robanjeet Kaur who struggled hard to save her father, said, "I will take revenge. My father was killed in the middle of the road. I was beaten up. I was slapped and even a shot was fired at me. I want to do the same to the people who murdered my father."
The Punjab government has issued order that the daughter of ASI may immediately be enlisted as Sub Inspector in the state police as a special case.
Barring one, no SAD MLA, minister attends cremationAmritsar: Except SAD MLA Gulzar Singh Ranike, no other MLA of the ruling Akali Dal was present at the cremation of the ASI Ravinder Pal Singh.
From BJP Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu attended the cremation and was with the family for most of the time. Almost all leaders of the Congress party were present. From Akali Dal, the district chief Upkaar Sandhu and former MLA Veer Singh Lopoke were present.
Senior police officials including Amritsar Police Commissioner Ram Singh, IG Border Range RP Mittal, DIG Paramraj Umranangal, SSP PS Virk, DCP Kaustabh Sharma and various SHOs were present.
