Sheila in hospital again: tests okay, needs rest

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit was Friday night admitted to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre after she complained of fatigue and uneasiness. She had visited the hospital for a routine check-up in the afternoon and left for home after undergoing tests.
Dikshit, 75, had undergone an angioplasty on November 27 after blockage was detected in one of her arteries. A stent was put in her right artery, and she had recovered after the procedure.
"There is nothing to worry. She has been admitted so that she can get some rest. Her Gujarat trip has had been very hectic and so is her otherwise schedule. Her follow-up tests were all okay and she is absolutely fine," said a hospital spokesperson.
Hospital sources said she spent the day resting and did not do any official work.
Though she had been advised rest after the angioplasty, she resumed her official work after three days and left for Gujarat soon after to release the Congress' election manifesto for the assembly polls there. Her condition will be reviewed by specialists either late on Saturday night or on Sunday morning before she is discharged.
The CM has had a history of heart ailment and she had undergone angioplasty twice before for blocked arteries. In 2001, she even underwent a heart bypass procedure.
About apprehension whether she would be able to participate in the coming winter session of the Delhi Assembly beginning Tuesday, her Parliamentary Secretary Mukesh Sharma said she would definitely lead the government in the House from the very first day, PTI reported.
