Samsung has tweeted that BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) will be available on Android phones from Sept. 20 for Samsung users, but it will be extended to others in December, 2013.
Blackberry had earlier revealed its plans to launch BBM for Android and iOS platforms and some leaks have already shown a functional BBM Android Beta version. Samsung Mobile South Africa recently tweeted the news that BBM was coming soon to Galaxy smartphones, which was similar to the message sent by Samsung Nigeria.
It said, "YES WE DID!!!! Available frm Friday RT @supersanusi: If Samsung really did get the 3 month exclusive like I heard, that would be something" and signed off as Samsung Mobile NG (@samsungmobileng). The message was sent on Sept. 16, 2013.
Meanwhile, Samsung Mobile Kenya (@SamsungMobileKE) also shared a message saying that BBM is coming for Samsung Galaxy devices 7 a.m. Thursday, September 19, via Google Play.
"BBM for your Samsung #Galaxy device is finally here! 19 Sept, 7am. Google Play. Be There! #RT – Samsung Mobile Kenya (@SamsungMobileKE)September 18, 2013," read the message.
With these tweets from Samsung Nigeria and Kenya, it is evident that BBM will first appear on Galaxy smartphones by Friday than other phones.
