News Update :

Cavs owner Gilbert confused by Browns' trade of Richardson

Thursday, 19 September 2013

>Wednesday night, the Cleveland Browns traded running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts for a 2013 first-round pick. Our own CBSSports.com NFL writer Will Brinson described the move as "stunning." So much so that even the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dan Gilbert weighed in with his confusion.

True story, gotta wait to see how it turns out. After all, not everyone can go get Andrew Bynum and skip ahead in the rebuilding process! Kidding.

It's kind of weird to see an owner basically be like "Hey, what?" on social media, but this is Dan Gilbert we're talking about. The man doesn't follow standard protocol. It's also maybe a subtle sign that the Cavs could become the hottest ticket in town for the first time since you-know-who took his talents to you-know-what.

Also, you could say this is the rich man's version of trading Ramon Sessions for a first-rounder. The pick here is more valuable, but then, Richardson was a top-three selection vs. bench role player Sessions. What the Browns really need, though, is the lottery. Ask Dan Gilbert. When it works out for you, it works out big time.
