Former NFL Head Coach and current CBS analyst Bill Cowher joined Ed & bob today to talk about the upcoming NFL season. Bill was the Pittsburgh Steelers coach for 15 years winning 1 Super Bowl, 8 division championships and making 10 playoff appearances.
You can currently find Bill on your local CBS station every Sunday morning on The NFL Today pre-game show from 12pm est up until the start of the 1pm est games.
Ed asked Bill about how tough it is to repeat as a Super Bowl champion. Bill said it is very tough to keep your team together and that is the toughest part. Bill said that he does like what the Ravens did however and thinks the Ravens will have a good season in the toughest division in football.
Bob asked Bill about complacency and how that sets in to a team. Bill said he doesn’t think the complacency plays into it much it’s more about turnover and teams now getting up for you more than anybody else.
Bob asked coach Cowher about what the Bengals have done and how they’ve built their team. Bill said the Bengals have built their team by drafting well and building their lines on both sides of the ball. Bill said the Bengals have one of the best defensive lines in football and that getting Andy Dalton and AJ Green and now adding Giovani Bernard makes their offense a true threat for the AFC North division. Bill also talked about the Patriots and how he believes they will continue to be a dominant team in the AFC picture.
