FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia has sent out invitations for an event on 22 October where it will likely unveil the Lumia 1520 phablet.
Nokia posted a "Save the Date" tweet on Twitter on Tuesday announcing its 22 October event where it's promising to showcase "innovation reinvented".
That's alright, however, as thanks to months of rumours we pretty much know what we can expect from the upcoming event. It's likely that the Nokia Lumia 1520 will be the star of the show and will be the Finnish firm's debut phablet device to challenge Samsung's Galaxy Note 3.
According to rumours, the Lumia 1520 could be the first device to feature Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update, which reportedly will add a rotation lock and support for HD 1080p screens to the mobile operating system.
That will be quite a coincidence, as the Lumia 1520 reportedly will be the first Nokia Lumia device to feature a HD 1080p screen, which is expected to measure 6in. There's also chatter that the phone will feature a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and a 16MP Pureview camera, and will come in several different coloured versions, much like the Lumia 1020 smartphone.
There are no pricing or release date details available for the rumoured Nokia Lumia 1520 yet.
