Freedom Fighter K L Bapuji Passed Away

One of the living freedom fighters from Andhra Pradesh state, Acharya Konda Lakshman Bapuji, has breathed his last today morning. While reading newspaper in the morning today, Bapuji collapsed all of a sudden due to a severe brain stroke.

Born on September 27, 1915 in Wankidi village of Adilabad district, Konda Lakshman Bapuji is an active freedom fighter who took part in various freedom movement programs including Quit India march and Non mulki movmement. After independence Bapuji was elected as a MLA from Asifnagar, Choutuppal and Bhuvanagiri. In 1969, he has resigned to his minster post to fight for separate Telangana state, becoming the first politician to give away post for separate state. Recently he has established Nava Telangana Praja party for the sake of separate state. He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter, who works in Yashoda hospital as a doctor.

Prominent leaders and politicians including CM Kiran, TDP Chief Naidu, Congress MP Lagadapati, TRS chief KCR, T-JAC chairman Kodandaram and other expressed their condolence over the sudden demise of K L Bapuji.

Freedom-fighters may leave this land, but let their spirit live long!
