NTR forced me into Politics: C Ramachandraiah
Minister for endowment C Ramachandraiah revealed an interesting fact in the meeting organized by NRIs in USA. During his speech, the senior politician stated that he made foray into politics not by interest, but by force. "I started practice as a chartered accountant and later entered into politics, not willingly but only upon the pressure from late NTR. I became the minister in 1986 itself and elected as Parliament member twice," says the minister.
The minister brought smiles on the faces of NRIs by commenting he took the endowment portfolio as a challenge although there is a myth that it will ruin the political career of the person whoever takes charge of it. "Usually, there is a negative opinion in political circles about endowment portfolio, but I took it as a responsibility and brought few reforms for the betterment of temples in the state," he opined.
NRIs felicitated C Ramachandraiah in Washington DC as a token of gesture for his good work as a minister and senior politician. On the other hand, the minister garnered the support from NRIs for the reforms he is planning to implement in future.
